I switched from U3011 to U3014 and now to U3017. They just keep getting better and this one is no exception. I like how the buttons are shifted down as I don't use them anyway. Everything is done through the Display Manager app on my taskbar. The finish on the bezel and back also looks better. It also appears brighter thanks to advances in anti-reflective coatings. Like others, I upgraded from what appears to be the grandfather of this monitor, the Dell Ultrasharp U2410. This is also a premium 16:10 display that has lasted me for 11 years (and still looks perfect). I couldn't be happier. Not an industry professional with extensive requirements or need for a monitor with correct color reproduction, but wanted a good monitor. It's a good monitor, maybe even a great one if judged by an expert in the field. White bleeding in the corners is minimal (which is common to all IPS monitors) and almost non-existent. Upgrade to UP3017 from U3011. It's no worse, it's no better, the quirkiness of the screen bumps is just different than my old U3011, and I noticed when I bought the U3011 many years ago that Dell doesn't see such bumps as a problem. I also bought an i1 Display Pro to take advantage of hardware calibration. I bought this to replace an aging Dell U3011 and it was a real disappointment. I couldn't tell any difference in picture quality, I guess I'm spoiled. Dell no longer offers DVI cable connections, which is a much bigger problem than I first realized. I'm using my monitor with KVM, so I need to either get a KVM that supports HDMI or DisplayPort, or convert the DVI that comes off my current KVM. I got this to match my graphics card's maximum resolution and I'm really impressed. I don't really care about exact color matching right out of the box, but the image quality is excellent for the price.

I'm not sure how to do justice to this monitor. It doesn't have 3D or 4K and the aspect ratio (16:10) isn't common. I've seen it called a "professional" monitor, but I'm not sure exactly what that means in this case. It has the most beautiful picture I have ever seen on a monitor. It should display over a billion colors and I believe in it. I sat and stared at the quaint wallpaper (instead of doing the work I was supposed to be doing). The shading is so precise that the images have great depth;

I tried two instances of this monitor. The first had a stuck dark pixel in the top left corner. The second had no stuck pixels but uneven color across the screen. If you are a graphic artist, you should use this monitor. You will see the correct colors. The price isn't bad considering what you get out of it.

Dell U3011 is irreparable. Dell does not provide a service manual. My U3011 is useless now unless I want to restore my own Frankenstein style monitor with no bevels which required me to destroy it to remove it. Then you will have problems with U3011. You're better off avoiding Dell altogether unless you like buying new stuff every 2 years or so. The more I research online, the more I realize Dell is a bad choice.

This monitor is super cool. It's MASSIVE and looks great on my desk. The picture is sharp and I like that it offers PIP too. I plan on keeping this on my desk for years to come. With this monitor you don't need a TV in your room. If you have Netflix, Hulu or whatever, you can watch them all on your computer connected to this monitor.

Updated 12/11/16. After finally getting this monitor up and running and using it almost daily for over a month, it started flickering all the time and went completely black while I was using it. Update: After using the suggestion below holding the tick button for 8 seconds the monitor finally works! I've been trying to get this to work for days and I think I've given up. EXACTLY what I needed to replace my 11 year old 30" Apple Cinema Display. I've been trying for a long time to find a monitor with a 16:10 aspect ratio and resolution - this is what I need. It even adjusts to sit lower on the stand than the apple and you can prop it up if you want.Very happy with this purchase.

The large display is great, and the multi-display ports allowed me to add two computers. PIP could not be made to work on both computers at the same time. Management is not very good
