Review on πŸ’» Dell UltraSharp 30 PremierColor LED Monitor with HDMI - 73GTT, 60Hz by Jason Grant

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Different from what I'm used to and impressive, like all exits

I'm not sure how to do justice to this monitor. It doesn't have 3D or 4K and the aspect ratio (16:10) isn't common. I've seen it called a "professional" monitor, but I'm not sure exactly what that means in this case. It has the most beautiful picture I have ever seen on a monitor. It should display over a billion colors and I believe in it. I sat and stared at the quaint wallpaper (instead of doing the work I was supposed to be doing). The shading is so precise that the images have great depth; I almost feel like I could go on stage and enjoy the fresh air / dip my toe in the clear water / ask for a castle tour etc. And it's clearly visible from every angle. Also, I tuned in to The Two Towers to see what the stage film looks like; it looked great; Maybe I'll find the time to host my own LOTR festival for research purposes. I don't want to duplicate the product description; I don't have the guts or technical experience to make it sound like I derived all the information myself; Therefore, I only mention the important points that might be relevant for a layman like me. The resolution is 2560 x 1600 at 60Hz, and while it's quite high, it doesn't feel exceptional for such a large screen; but I've seen 4K TV pictures that weren't as good. I think it should be the color definition and not just the resolution that makes the display look so unusual. I have a hard drive that allows the user to play with colors, but I wouldn't even come close. It also has a color calibration datasheet (I'm sure it's very informative, but if you want details you'll have to ask someone else). Suppose my husband won't let me go with his monitor to check it); nevertheless it has DP and mDP ports. It has many connectivity options; It has 2 HDMI ports and more USB3 ports than most people would need. It has an audio jack. If you have older hardware, it DOES NOT have a DVI or VGA connector, but cables can solve this problem. Yes, I highly recommend it. If I could marry him, I would be tempted.

Pros
  • β€ŽDDR3 SDRAM
Cons
  • Lower refresh rate
