I've been using this light in my 3.5 gallon tank for three weeks now and it's working well so far. The coloring goes great with my shrimp and mosses. I have two bad things to say about it, the first lamp I received had a broken seal and had to be sent back and the second bad thing is this lamp doesn't work with an external timer. You are limited to a 3-hour, 9-hour, or 12-hour timer. For this reason I cannot give 5 stars.
