Review on 🚗 Sony XAV-AX8000 1DIN Chassis 8.95-Inch Floating LCD Screen Media Receiver with Apple Car Play, Android Auto, and Bluetooth by Daniel Ton

This is a well made unit, installation was easy although the single DIN chassis is quite deep so wiring can be tight depending on the vehicle. What is amazing is that there is only one USB port that the smartphone should use if you want Android Auto or Carplay, even the cheaper Sony models in the range have two ports. The screen resolution is low but it works well, the touchscreen is quite responsive. The critical flaw here is the weak screen and lack of brightness control, in the car on a clear day I can barely see the screen, put on sunglasses and it's useless. Looks great at night or in the garage, can't understand why Sony didn't give us on screen controls. There is a brightness control, but it only applies to night mode, meaning it makes the screen even darker.
