Screen too dim - unusable

This is a well made unit, installation was easy although the single DIN chassis is quite deep so wiring can be tight depending on the vehicle. What is amazing is that there is only one USB port that the smartphone should use if you want Android Auto or Carplay, even the cheaper Sony models in the range have two ports. Need a brighter screen

Important The radio fits, clear sound, large screen, the screen is easily visible in the sun. It should be lighter. CarPlay, clean mic, excellent customization. Ok it fits my 85 f150 well but due to the single cockpit the display is hard to see through the light in the rear window. It's more like a TV in direct sunlight. You can't see shit. Works great in a vintage Ford Econoline van

I have an 87 Ford Econoline converted for off-road/landing. I've been looking for 1 din screen units for a long time trying to find something that will fit on my van's dashboard. The space is tight and the range is perfectly vertical with a ledge at the top. Super uncomfortable. But this radio was perfect and I couldn't be happier. Works as advertised - very good sound with factory speakers.

Radio works, what else do you expect? Android Auto connects easily with no issues. The screen is a bit low resolution but easy to read, everything is crisp and big. As others have said, it's not very bright. I personally agree because I do NOT want the screen to distract me while driving. A few notes: 1. After installation, you can't install the top plastic cover that hides the mounting bracket? ? It does not fit when the front display is installed. I might be missing some puzzle magic here. 2:
