I don't understand the bad reviews, I just got it and my girls are crazy. They're already wearing them in their hair. These are balls the size of chewing gum, very pretty, all the colors of the rainbow. Opaque and also shiny translucent. The bands themselves are thin, both for less hair and for easier attachment. I can tie my 3 year old daughter's hair in a big ponytail because her hair is fine and straight. My 5 year old daughter has thick fringe hair so I parted her hair and tied 2 hair ties. I think if I wanted all her hair I would have to use at least 4 pieces together in separate sections. It's super cute. In my picture you can see that all the colors come in pairs. Strange at the bottom because my kids wear their "partners" and they're missing. 24 pieces in total
