I used it to install flexible HVAC ducting under my house. It worked pretty well and the nylon strap tightened really well. The problem arises when you want to cut the tie. To keep the strap nice and taut you need to grab the black handles closer to the ends and squeeze. If it's taut, you'll need to readjust your grip to grip the silver clipped portion of the tool. If you're already crooked and uncomfortable underground trying to properly attach the strap, this movement of your grip can cause the tool to slip off the strap a little at times. Then you have to put it back and press the smaller silver lever to cut the ribbon. After a long day I would have liked more power to cut the strap. I also caught my finger with the silver lever. I must have been in a hurry when I ordered this and when I went to use it I found it was a manual shut off. I was dying to order the TY6, which automatically cuts the tie when the tension is right. I would take a look at this tool.
