I do not recommend this flat perch. Wood Material: Most birds will degrade it quickly as the wood is very soft. According to the description, it is Chinese fir, which is so soft and light that it looks fake. It reminds me of the bits of balsa wood I grind up on toys for my parrot (who rips them to pieces in minutes!). have a flat perch for my older bird to rest. Equipment: cheap thin washers and a wing nut with pieces of metal already chipped off. The metal is clearly not stainless steel, which is the only bird safe metal I know of (avoid nickel and zinc!). Instead: If you're looking for a solid, durable, flat wooden perch, search the internet for a manzanita perch. They cost more but they are worth it in comparison.
