I got this when all of a sudden a ton of pears ripened on my tree and I needed to preserve them. I tried another brand first and sent it back as it just crushed the pears into pieces. Rotato worked great straight away and I peeled and processed these pears in record time! The only thing I can complain about is that parts of the wet shell regularly get stuck in the blade mechanism and suddenly stop climbing, and you have to disassemble and clean the blockage. It was pretty annoying. I've also used it to peel lemons when making jam and it peeled the lemon peel off in a long beautiful strip with no problem. For that purpose it was great. I found this to be a very worthwhile purchase and would recommend it to anyone who wants to peel a bunch of fruit or veg at once, or peels food or groceries frequently.
