Cheap Insurance for your MacBook

As it should have happened - on a trip, the failing standard Seagate hard drive in my black Macbook died after 2 years of moderate use. I tried unsuccessfully to revive it, so I looked for a replacement. I searched carefully (didn't want to lose another HD) and found a proven Scorpio 250 hard drive at a great price. I installed it a month ago, restarted the software and I'm back to work. Some specific notes: The Scorpio appears to be more bouncy than the 80MB Seagate it replaced - not by much, but enough to notice. on both sides of the bay. When I took out my old drive I must have loosened one of the straps and when I tried to install the Scorpio it inexplicably didn't slide all the way down. It took a flashlight to see that one of the rubber guides had fallen onto the driveway. bottom of the drive bay and blocks drive access to the contacts. It took some patience, a small screwdriver and a flashlight to unroll the piece of rubber and stick it back to the side of the drive bay. So be careful when removing your Macbook drive so you don't dislodge those rubber guides! As a precaution, I ordered another Scorpio for a preventive hard drive replacement in my second MacBook. So far so good with Scorpio - I highly recommend it. .
