Review on Enhanced Thermal Solution for Intel Corp BXTS13A by Tony Wylie

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Remarkably easy to assemble, adequately cools my server's CPU.

Since it is only designed for LGA2011 and LGA2011, it is very easy to install it on a dedicated motherboard. I didn't use the included thermal paste and opted for the Noctua NT-H1 instead, so can't comment on that, but it gets the job done and costs a lot less than most other options, and I can't fault its performance. Much easier to install than something like the Hyper 212, it's a nightmare. I'm using an Intel Xeon e5-1620 v2 with a TDP of 130W and the temperature stays consistently below 55 even under full load. The blue LED fan is ugly and the fan itself is quite noisy at high speeds, but I'm the only one who must look and listen to it. The machine it's used on is a server that's going to be hidden in a closet anyway. If I had to rate that, it would be a B+. The performance is ok, the price is good, but the noise is high and it's definitely ugly. Also, it doesn't support sockets other than LGA2011, which greatly reduces the number of users who can use this cooler, which is a shame as it's decent for the price.
