Love this GPS watch. I've used Nike+ stuff before, and that's why I like Garmin watches better: 1. Nike+ sensors wear out after a few months and they're $29 each. So in the next 3 years the cost will be about the same.2. GPS watch is more accurate.3. It automatically shows routes.4. The software lets you add workouts you did without the watch - Nike doesn't.5. You can plan workouts, I found some free marathon training plans on runner's world UK.6. Suitable for cycling, hiking, etc., not only for running and walking.7. No need to mess around with iPod, iTunes, etc.8. Custom workouts keep you within a certain pace, which is great for workouts. Disadvantages: 1. Large and bulky.2. It takes time to find the satellite if I don't turn it on first.3. The software is not as user-friendly and entertaining as the Nike website.4. They have separate online software and PC software and I have never been able to get it to work with online software. This is the cheapest GPS option available today, but costs a little more than the Nike+ system. So if you're not sure if you're going to keep running, I think Nike+ is perfect for beginners. The watch itself has a bunch of menus, fine print that is really intimidating and vaguely reminds me of calculator watches from the 80's. But without the cool factor.7. If you have a workout set up, it will beep when you move too fast or too slow. But it beeps constantly, and while you can change the beep setting, it doesn't stop until the workout is over. Training programs are set up, basic functions of the calendar are missing (e.g. highlighting today's date), training details are hidden, etc. The software feels very late. — I think I'd rather wear a watch than a bandage on my arm. I have a few on my wrist and don't usually wear a watch. I just need an accurate system so this watch is an absolute surplus. But it's easy to ignore all addons, I just press start to run and stop to exit. Overall I'm very happy with it, it just feels like wasted potential. Garmin's cash is clearly in their automotive products, while Nike has more software talent. I want them to join forces and then we would have a training iPod.
