Review on KitchenAid KGM Metal Grain Attachment by Charles Fowler

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Update: Read the directions and watch your pace and you'll be fine.

I hesitated a bit and regretted not having done my homework and not reading some of these reviews. My plan is to stop buying flour and make my own regularly. Some reviews say they destroy kitchen utensils from overheating. So I proceeded cautiously because I didn't want to ruin my wife's new 5 liter cookware. I started with a cup of Durum Berries first and started on the coarsest setting and increased this by 3 clicks until I reached the finest setting. The durum mug went through the grinder 4 times at speed 2. I had a temperature gun and observed the temperature I reached on the kitchen helper's body at 110°F. I read the instructions at the nearby factory. A typical man thing I know. According to the instructions, the kitchen assistant should be switched on at level 10. So I ran 3 cups of whole white wheatberries through settings 6 and 1, with 1 being best. I never got past 103°F, I sieved this batch and re-cooked the cookware, now it was 93°, I processed 2 cups of hard berries the same way at speed 10-6 and 1 fineness. Hardened again at 103°. Screened Fool. Then 2 more cups of whole white wheat berries of the same system 10 speed 6 and 1 coarser were added. Start again with the low range of 90° and end with the low range of 100°. Seems to be working fine. You just need to follow the passing regimens of the kitchen and not process too much at once. It's not the best grinder, but it will make great bread and cookies. If you want to make your own flour. Not just a funny thing here and there. I would invest in mockmill200. This kitchen topper, like all others, is designed for weekend warriors and hobbyists. Flour is gritty from a kitchen mill and slow.
