Great wheat mill, works well, makes very fine flour.

I have used this mill several times to grind durum and durum wheat; it worked flawlessly in my Artisan 5-qt Kitchen Aid Blender. The flour I grind seems to be as fine as professionally ground flour, with a little more grinding variation, but perfect for baking. A few notes/tips for use: - The blender gets hot during operation and can get quite hot when grinding whole grains to fine tuning; I ran mine in batches just to be on the safe side. My mixer is over 11 years old with original gears; I…

Update: Read the directions and watch your pace and you'll be fine.

I hesitated a bit and regretted not having done my homework and not reading some of these reviews. My plan is to stop buying flour and make my own regularly. Some reviews say they destroy kitchen utensils from overheating. So I proceeded cautiously because I didn't want to ruin my wife's new 5 liter cookware. Good quality product for the price - you need to use it properly.

This grinder is perfect for the person who wants a few pounds of flour a week and already owns a real kitchen helper (commercial/professional. Handyman? Ehhh). I used to use King Arthur's flour for this - something decent enough - and after baking I ground bread from hard red winter wheat? The store sells off completely. I was shocked how much better it got. Bread has a depth and dimension that just didn't exist before. I just can't go back and after I've used everything I have in the store…

. for a year or more and I wanted to love this product

I've wanted a Kitchen Aid Grain Mill for a year or more and I wanted to love this product. Used it yesterday with my 600w Kitchen Aid Professional Blender. This grinder cannot be used with the 325W Kitchen Aid Handmade Blender; That was too much work for my pro! After reading all the instructions, I happily set about grounding the newly arrived Dudka red wheatberries, non-GMO, organically grown by Belle Valley Ancient Grains. It was amazingly slow, but it turned out to be a beautiful commercial
