Technically behind IMHO

advantages. This is a beautiful camera, the high resolution LCD on the back is great and this camera takes great photos and videos. The 26x zoom is very smooth, and once it hits the subject you're zooming in on, the autofocus is good for the amount of money you're spending on this bridge camera. This is a good kit. minuses. I bought this camera to take to car races, car shows and places where you MUST have a good zoom for a good movie. I used the camera for a few test shots, learned its pros and cons and was very happy with it until I started using the 26x zoom in FILM mode. It worked fine, but the jiggling AND blurring that occurs when zooming when recording video is MUCH behind the times technically to my knowledge and makes the video look bad. I've seen quite a few other digital cameras in this price range, and yet this could be one of those "you get what you pay for" scenarios. I think Canon's models cornered the blur reduction market. Buy them all, but I ended up spending $400 instead of $225 and got a camera that fulfilled ALL my needs, not just most. My husband has an old Canon SX5is and when I experimented with it I found that there was no zoom blur problem. slight tremor. Another good option is the Canon SX500. Less zoom than the SX50 but cheaper.

Pros
  • a good thing
Cons
  • periodicity
