Review on White Wireless Smart Door/Window Sensor (2-Pack) by Monoprice - Compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, No Hub Required - from Stitch Collection by Michael Hawkins

Why didn't they make more of it?

I've tried many different door sensors (reed switches). The thing is huge, I can't imagine needing something that gigantic on my door or window. I posted a photo of it next to the Aqara sensor that I'm now using instead. The Monoprice sensor is slow to respond, disconnects or reconnects to 2.4GHz WiFi, and is just awkward to use. I need door sensors that work quickly, especially when I use them to automatically turn on lights or set off an alarm. The Monoprice sensor takes up to 5 minutes to notify, which is too long. Wifi is too slow for door sensors. Look for Zigbee as they are much faster and will continue to work even if your WiFi goes down. One cool thing about it is the tamper switch on the back. But that's all.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
