Review on 🚗 JDM ASTAR 144-EX Chipsets 2504 PSX24W LED Fog Light Bulbs with Projector - Enhanced Bright White Illumination by Todd Atherton

It's really, really cool. Our Subaru Crosstrek was delivered in November 2013. So far both bulbs in the headlights have burned out. Firstly the batteries and bulbs were replaced, and secondly I did when I bought a pair. Now one of the parking lights/fog lights is defective. NAPA charged $5 for an incandescent bulb, and the dealer charged $20 for a single halogen bulb like the original. Searching the web I first found a similar LED kit (though not the same as the JDM ASTAR 1200) for $120. For some reason, Revain didn't show the LEDs for our car at first, but then they did. So try another search. They are REALLY lighter than stock and I hope they last. Here are some buying and installation tips. Note the exact base configuration. The Revain website points this out. I had to take out the blown bulb to make sure I was buying the right product. To access the compartment, poke your head under the car near the front wheel. It's not as bad as the plumbing in the kitchen sink, but close. Using a screwdriver, unscrew the two pins that secure the underbody of the car to the front. Then, closer to the center of the car and a little back, you need to unscrew the last screw (you can use a Phillips screwdriver on a drill) or a small Allen key. A drill driver is easier. Now you can lower part of the skirt under the lightbulb. First, notice how the ribbing on the skirt overlaps the pieces. Unplug. Note that the bottom of the plug has more grooves. Now there are two protrusions on the lamp base, you can see one at the bottom and the other at the top. If you can, press both at the same time and the base should detach from the reflector. In both cases I broke the bottom tab (easy to do) and was then able to detach and jiggle the top one. Since it would take a few days for the bulbs to arrive, I mounted the connector higher, sealed the reflector hole with tape, and reattached the skirt. Line up the skirt's tongues properly, line up the holes, and press the buttons as you found them. Fasten the screw. Inserting the bulbs is easy. Note that the L/R side of the lamp base goes to the left with a slight gap for both lamps. If unsure, remove the remaining bulb (if installing a pair) and test. The bases are snapped onto these two base tabs. plug in. You can use the socket to install the lamps. Grab everything and be amazed. Of course, check the operation of each bulb before closing access. Because they are positioned lower in the vehicle, they should not disturb oncoming traffic or the person you are following at traffic lights. But the impact on visibility is very noticeable. My wife needs cataract surgery because driving at night has become more difficult. So while we await progress on this decision, I'm hoping these really good LED bulbs can help.
