Review on Cylinder Adapter Connector Accessories Sodastream by Alan Brewer

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Freezing the bottle and setting the valve correctly are critical.

Instructions on how to use this adapter could be clearer. Initially I had some trouble refilling Soda Stream despite watching a lot of videos. I even went so far as to prepare for the modification of the tank valves. YOU DON'T HAVE TO CHANGE THE TANK VALVES EVEN WITH NEW TANKS. I was only able to fill in 9-11 ounces. CO2 in tanks is initially very slow. Then I watched some videos from an Australian company that sells a different adapter. The principles are the same; They explained why it is so important to put the bottle in the freezer before filling and how to adjust the button that pushes on the valve at the top of the container. Watching these videos, I was able to fill each tank with 13 ounces. CO2 in about a minute. The reason you need to freeze the bottle is because the liquid CO2 coming out of your storage tank turns to gas immediately as it enters the warm tank. This increases the pressure and thus the filling resistance. Freezing the tank keeps the incoming CO2 liquid and a lower internal pressure. I twisted the handle that fully opens the top valve. The Australian video explains that this pushes the valve far enough to close it again. Instead, you should screw it in all the way and then back it off 1/2-1 turn. After making these two adjustments, filling was smooth and quick.
