When they say "stencil size " they mean .

When they say "stencil size" they mean the size of the OVERALL stencil, not the actual numbers. It was NOT clear. So when I felt that a 3.25" Dolphin was sufficient for my needs, imagine being given a stencil only to find that the actual shapes on that 3" piece of plastic are microscopic . It messed up every intended use so I ordered them for starters. Otherwise the stencil itself looks great, but how can you tell how small they are to even use them?
