It's high enough to see through whatever you're working with. Magnets are deceptively strong.
The light is incredibly bright and spreads very evenly. With this power, I could even see my image through cardboard. The brightness on/off button also works through sheets of paper, so that's cool. The two magnets are small but surprisingly strong. They both have no problem holding two sheets, even if you move them they stay together. The build quality is solid. I could drop him on the floor on a corner and I'm sure he wouldn't care. The only thing I think he needs is maybe a way to pick him up and tip him off the table.
