Review on Kingston DataTraveler flash drive 100 G3 256 GB, 1 pc. black by Kristiyana Setiyawat ᠌

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Disgusting quality, impossible to use.

I bought 2 pieces (32 GB) for music in the car. Both behave the same. When first connected (to both USB2 and USB3) it takes a very long time to install in the system. In the process of writing to it, it can simply "fall off" out of the blue. But the main thing is speed. When recording MP3 (i. E. several MB files), the speed never exceeded 10 MB / s, usually -7-9 MB / s (USB3.0 port, the source is an external SATA drive, which easily provides 150 MB / s) . Warm moderately. For comparison, an old blue rubber flash drive (Kingston DT Rubber) of 32 GB in such a situation stably holds 20-30 MB / s. It's better not to get involved, but to look for something more decent. Of course, if you can find. 09/07/2022 Both purchased flash drives had to be thrown away. In the radio tape recorder of the machine (i. E. read-only mode, in the anamnesis of flash drives the ONLY procedure for writing files) the signal began to periodically disappear, the radio tape recorder spontaneously switches to radio mode, after a few minutes it returns to playing the file. In other words, it is impossible to use as a source. (The effect was tested in a computer - the same picture. The original files on the disk are normal, the copies on the flash drive are broken. Everything is fine with other flash drives in the car.). Unfortunately, with such a defect, it is probably pointless to take it under warranty. The general impression from reviews and personal experience is that the last decent flash drives were made about three years ago. Since then, even those that were quite decent then have become useless :-((

Pros
  • anyway it works :-) no other merit! you can drag files from computer to computer while the original information is saved. You cannot trust unique information!
Cons
  • The speed is below the plinth, there is no LED-indicator of operation, it is connected unreliably, sometimes it spontaneously disappears. Quite quickly, the recorded files deteriorate - the media center in the car (and the player in the computer) starts to fail. With other flash drives, the same media center works fine.
