I open the gate of an electric car with the switch. The key turns effortlessly. This is a snap-action switch that is normally open (off). Turning the switch clockwise closes (on) the switch. The switch returns to its original "off" position. The switch requires a 3/4" hole. My local hardware store had no problem with key duplication. Build quality is good and the lock nut holds the switch securely in place. 2 terminals fit standard crimp terminals.
