DLink got off to a phenomenal start with this router. It was fast, stable, and received rave reviews almost everywhere. Then it was time to update the firmware and it went downhill. Search a little and you will find many people who are having severe wireless performance issues and annoying issues like: B. locking their router every few days. You can either use the latest firmware to get various security improvements and bug fixes but risk those issues, or you can use an older firmware that will work reliably for most people (if your box even has older firmware) - until then , until you *never* update it, because despite all the complaints, DLink won't let you upgrade from the latest firmware to another firmware, which means if you update and have problems, it's very bad for you. I really did this router. But these problems have existed for so long that I no longer believe they can ever be successfully solved. I just ordered another brand to replace mine. For those willing to take the risk, I would like to point out one thing: you can choose to work with this router *either 2.4GHz or 5GHz. This means that if you have 2.4GHz devices that you want to connect, the 5GHz band is not an option for you.
