Review on πŸ”Š High-Quality Subwoofer Stereo Amplifier - 100Watt 2-8ohm TPA3116 Mono Channel Class D Amp for Home Theater Power by Mark Callaham

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Really surprised how good it sounds with my subwoofer. I would buy it again.

I have a large 12 inch subwoofer enclosure for a home theater system with a 150W power supply. I decided to try this amp to see if it would work well with my subwoofer. I was a bit concerned that this is a 90w amp (with the power supply included) and that it wouldn't drive a subwoofer, not that it's usually high enough to go up to 150w. I expected it to sound the same as the old amp at best. And that's okay because it worked great with the old amp. But this amp surprisingly sounds a little better than the subwoofer's built-in amp. I swear it handles <60Hz better. music on or a movie action sequence and this unit easily packs more power than I've ever used. There are a few downsides, but all can be dealt with. I wish it had an auto power off feature, although the Class D amp draws very little power. Male RCA Cable or 3.5mm RCA Female to RCA Cable + RCA Cable. I want it to use regular RCA connectors. Mainly because the 3.5mm jack isn't that *reliable*. So if the amp ever moves (and it's tiny and light, so it's easy to accidentally move it), you'll hear a lot of loud noise. #2 right? This is actually very important and #1 and #3 are not really a problem once you are done with the setup. I would buy it again or recommend it to a friend who needs a subwoofer amp.

Pros
  • This amplifier improves the bass response of passive subwoofers, can be switched to a subwoofer bass amplifier or a full-range mono amplifier with a selector switch.
Cons
  • Waiting too long
