It's important to note that this is my first iPhone (apart from the iPhone xr I bought for my son a few months ago for his unique medical needs). Prior to now, I only only used Android-powered cellphones in the $250–500 price range. My decision to convert to iPhone was influenced by the fact that each succeeding smartphone had reliably served me for one to one and a half years prior to the onset of freezes and incredibly slow functioning. At the same time, all of the common methods for accelerating the process (increasing memory, cleaning the phone in various ways, rolling back to the factory settings) had a very limited impact (if they had any at all). At the same time, despite the scandal and Apple's own acknowledgement, nearly every user of an Apple device has convinced me that there is no such thing in their products, even after 3–4 years. In summary, I came to the conclusion that you cannot know unless you try, therefore I purchased this model. It has been in use for nearly two months. I acknowledge that the majority of the issues raised are actually due to my illiteracy, and I am willing to participate in any helpful educational initiatives. Only after a few years, when I know whether the primary objective will be accomplished, will I be able to reach my final judgment of this smartphone. In the meanwhile, I can state that the device is somewhat contentious in my opinion given the pricing as a middle option.
