I had to wait 2.5 months for my car to be delivered. I had a nervous breakdown! I've been sewing for over 50 years. My living room in the apartment has no sofas, TV, etc., this is my sewing room! Well, I exhausted my favorite machine and ended up with my mom's Featherweight and 3-coil overlock. I looked at the attachment for sewing buttonholes with the FW and turned to the heavy Singer machine for cost reasons. I do road tax on FW. That's how the journey to Sparrow 30 began. I hated him the first day. This is my first computer controlled car and it took me a while to get used to it. I decided, Leaving Macine and giving it at least a few days later how long he's been waiting for his arrival. On day 2 I started liking him and on day 3 I started falling in love with him. At first I was worried about the "pink" car in my living room. But I like it. I think it's "red", not pink. To me, it's a soft, soothing color. Easy and quick threading, easy winding of the bobbin and easy loading of the bobbin. I like the blade that can cut the bobbin thread. It took me a little time to use the needle threader. Follow the instructions EXACTLY. I love it now and I love the thread, the button that cuts the thread when you're done sewing. Fundamental to everything about the machine is the fact that the machine produces a beautiful stitch! From the basic stitch to all stitches, these are very beautiful stitches. The motor seems strong enough as long as it is stronger than the FW. In truth, the only objection I have is that it might be an issue due to computerization. I'm used to controlling stitch speed by pressing the petal, stepping back, and grabbing the wheel to stop exactly where I want it to stop. I'm having to get used to adjusting the rotary speed with a slider conveniently located on the front of the machine. The paddle allows for some control, but if you go past a certain point the car comes to a complete stop and you have to take your foot all the way back and start again, to get it moving. Also when you press the stitch cutter it wants to take the stitch and then cut, but I'm done - I don't want it to take the stitch! So I'm trying to get used to stopping the stab for a moment and then pressing on the knife. Overall I think it's a very nice car and for the price it's definitely a great buy. I had a top notch sewing machine that I sewed every day for 30 years! I think the small adjustment I need to make is actually pretty minor and to be expected! I very confidently give this car the highest rating! to stop the stitch briefly and then press on the knife. Overall I think it's a very nice car and for the price it's definitely a great buy.
