I've been using Philips DVD-R discs for many years and I've never had a problem with a bad disc or bad recording quality. I don't record from my computer but from my DVD burner (I have several brands) so I can't tell if they are compatible with PC burning software. The price is usually fair, but I always wait for a sale to stock up. At this point I would say I used about 1800 discs. The only time I've had a problem with a disc was when I realized my recorder was on the verge of death. The hard drive is not to blame.
