I have serious back problems. As a result, I find it difficult to stand long enough to apply makeup and style my hair. I had a stool that I used for a while but it didn't have a backrest so it wasn't comfortable. I measured from the bathroom floor to the bottom of the vanity and it was 24 inches. This seat of this chair is 18 inches off the floor. I was worried because it was so cheap but I took a chance and I'm so glad I did. It's surprisingly durable, has a nicely padded seat, and folds almost flat so I can hide it behind the door. This turned out to be the perfect solution for me. I understand my needs are probably different than most, but it helped me a lot and I'm so glad I bought it!
