A friend spilled a drink on her laptop and killed it. She asked me to restore the files if I can. I somehow needed to read the SSD drive from their computer, so I bought this case. The build and materials are good. The drive fits snugly, but there's a little trick with the included screws to keep it in place. The manual says so, but it's easy to miss. The thumbscrew has a narrow section and this is where the drive must rest. If you hold the drive against the case with a screw, the screw will stick out too far and you will not be able to insert the drive into the case. If you get it right, the drive will fit into the case, but the screw will rub a little. After the build I managed to get the old files out of the drive. Then I deleted all partitions, repartitioned and formatted. Now my friend gets her files back and has a good backup drive for her next computer. The file transfer speed is really good. Overall I am very satisfied with this device.
