I really doubted I was willing to shell out one hundred and thirty dollars for a reinforced tire. I quickly changed my mind when I started my DC electric project on our sailboat. The Lynx Power-In proved to be a well-designed, well-built, and easy-to-integrate component. This has been my experience with almost every Victron product I have purchased over the past three years. The Lynx Power-In is a busbar system with negative and positive bars integrated in a single, robust housing. You can replicate the system by buying individual components, but I don't see how you'll save money and your project will be much harder and harder to work on. The system is exceptionally well built, with a thick tinned copper barrel and hard plastic cover. The power-in doesn't include fuse holders like the Lynx splitter, but it's easy to install one yourself if needed. After all, Victron is a first class company. The company's designers really think about the technical aspects of their products, and the build quality is top-notch. The online technical resources are excellent and my calls and emails to the US distributor have always been answered. If you are starting a marine electrical project from scratch, I recommend Victron as the basis for your product.
