Good tool for the price

I ordered this item as a last resort. I read some of the reviews beforehand. When I received the tool, I immediately realized why people were having problems. All you have to do is use oil on the threads. Second, use a heavy gauge stainless steel washer with a large OD between the nut and the tool. Use oil again. Adjust the screw all the way down to about 10 ft-lbs. After removing the brackets, lift the nut (about an inch above the tool after the brackets are removed) just enough to rotate the tool 90Β° and loosen the spring. Install a new spring and cap, twist into place and press together. If the tool starts to bend, simply flip it over and watch your position. If the nut is difficult to turn, loosen the nut slightly and apply more oil to the threads. Use a 1/2" wide-handled box wrench, not a socket wrench. Most importantly, be patient. The people who left the bad reviews were probably trying to be quick and they aren't mechanics, just impatient kids. I made both of my 243 heads in about an hour and a half. If you use the instructions above, you shouldn't have any problems. Just be sure to use oil on any parts that have friction.
