Caused a bad hip injury while running

So for reference. I run an average of 4-7 miles 2-3 times a week. I also walk an average of 6-8 miles a day at work. I haven't had any hip injuries in the past, but I do have arthritis in my lower back. I bought these because I needed new running shoes. I bought these without trying them on because I know how well the ASICS brand ranks and my husband loves his Venture 5 even though these were my first running shoes. I wore them for the first time the same day I had a company 5k 1.2 mile run. I had severe pain radiating from my hip to my knee and what appeared to be a split tibia and severe pain in the back of my foot. I had no intention of quitting as a resort fitness ambassador, so I kept running. After 2 miles I was limping every time I slowed down and felt severe pain all over my leg. After 2.5 miles I could barely walk and my limp was severe. I went to a fitness conference and took my trusty old running shoes with me. I walked around a big city, ran 5K, climbed 46 flights of stairs, ran a mile and did a group workout in these shoes. I had minimal pain, just residual trauma. I knew these boots needed a rest, so I put ASICS back on, thinking my problems were low in potassium. God I was wrong. I couldn't go 3 hours without severe pain in my left leg and it got worse with every step! I quickly put on my company's rental shoes and immediately felt relieved. My hip pain was reduced by 70% after 1 hour of wearing this alternative shoe.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
