Well I added this upgraded aluminum cap many years ago not believing that it would do anything other than look good and make it easy to change the oil and filter. I was wrong, I hit the I 95 with fragments of the 18th wheel, see photos, how the aluminum cover was destroyed and the oil pan was dented, but not broken. It saved me from further damage to my engine, maybe thousands of dollars in repairs, towing, rentals and more. I was able to get to FL with a small leak around the oil pan gasket. Revain shipped me a new oil pan for less than $27 that same week and a new aluminum cap (see picture). I'm a lucky tourist.
