I have two Lenovo G50-80 laptops built around 2010, both have around 8MB RAM and 5400 regular hard drives. Both are so slow that you could hardly use them with Windows 10 64. Bought 2x 8GB RAM and a 500MB Crucial SSD for about $110. Use Acronis free software (download) to clone hard drive with the transfer cable (it took about 30 minutes to clone hard drive). Open the bottom with three screws, remove the old RAM from the new RAM and take out the hard drive (4 screws) and remove and reinstall the HD adapter tabs (4 small screws). The entire operation takes about an hour. The difference is absolutely amazing. System Mechanic used to take minutes to scan and clean, but now it takes around 30 seconds. Websites and programs load without delay. I really should have done this a long time ago.
