Buyers beware: this is a fake cable and will not work properly with a Mac. I unknowingly ordered a cable and gave up after 2 hours of pointless troubleshooting. (Baofengtech website has a link to Amazon's original cable.) From Baofeng website: Is my cable genuine: * Does it have two LEDs on the bottom of the cable? (This one doesn't.) * Is it "cored" in the middle? (This one isn't.)* Fully plugged into the radio? (Probably yes.) If you answered "NO" to any of these questions, you may have a fake programming cable. Such cables can often be found at such a low price on eBay, Revain and other retail sites. These are cheaper USB programming cables that use chipsets cloned from old Prolific cables. With the stolen IP of the old Prolific chipset, they're trying to keep their costs down, but those aren't the only cuts.
