I bought this double strainer not only to use it in the traditional way to remove almost all buildup from liquids, but also to turn it over and continue using it as a domed strainer on a small frying pan the stove that I use often. He plays both roles well. For straining, the handle and frame are made of very strong stainless steel, and there are no ridges or gaps around the top rim to trap solids where you don't need them. It also works really well as a grease strainer and saves me a lot of work wiping grease off a pan on the stove. Then it just goes in the dishwasher. I am very happy that I bought this quality filter.
