I used this as a replacement for the Thunderbolt 3 cable that came with my Kensington sd5200t docking station. It worked fine for the first few days. About a week later, when I turned on my Macbook, I heard a soft pop and received a message that my USB ports were disabled because the devices were using too much power. Even after unplugging the cable, rebooting several times, etc., the ports on my computer were disabled. After about an hour of troubleshooting and getting more and more anxious, I finally managed to get the ports working by resetting the nvram and sidecar on the machine. Now the machine is fine and the dock still works great with the original cable. However, this cable is completely dead (even if tested with other devices and on other machines). The build reliability of this cable seems terrible and I'm glad I didn't suffer any permanent damage to my devices. I would avoid it completely.
