Even though I let the oven cool down a bit, there must have been some hot spots that were causing my plastic vacuum to smolder. I looked into a Dustless Technologies vacuum to remove the ash from my stove. The device is designed to work with warm ash, since most of its parts are made of metal. It features a dueling bag system that really filters out the fine dust that a regular vacuum just can't handle. The first time I saw it in action was when my chimney sweep set it in motion. Dual filters prevent the vacuum from bloating, which a traditional vacuum can do to ash. I am very satisfied with this vacuum cleaner.
