Works great with my pellet stove.

Even though I let the oven cool down a bit, there must have been some hot spots that were causing my plastic vacuum to smolder. I looked into a Dustless Technologies vacuum to remove the ash from my stove. The device is designed to work with warm ash, since most of its parts are made of metal. It features a dueling bag system that really filters out the fine dust that a regular vacuum just can't handle. The first time I saw it in action was when my chimney sweep set it in motion. Dual filters…

Tools do not match hose

Ordered these tools expecting the brush and crevice tool to be useful for cleaning out fire pits and wood stoves. . . However, I was a little confused as to how these tools fit the vacuum hose without love. I've tried several methods and couldn't for my life figure out how to firmly connect them to the hose until I read another one. The reviewer comments on how he had to remove the end of the hose. . . something I didn't take into account. By unscrewing the end of the hose I was able to firmly…

Useful but needs an update

I bought this with my excellent Cougar vacuum (reviewed elsewhere) because the vacuum comes bare and the bare vac has limited use. Attachments in particular are good ideas but very poorly designed. The first problem was that the kit did not come with assembly instructions. The metal intake manifold on the vacuum hose appears to be permanently attached, but it is not. It has to be removed from the end of the rubber hose to allow the nozzles to fit in or over the tip of the rubber hose and it…

I'm glad I bought these for my Cougar

I am amazed at all the reviews of these tools not fitting or coming without instructions. The company may have changed their instructions, but I had all the information I needed. The tools fit easily onto the end of the hose (after removing the metal nozzle as instructed) and all three make my pellet stove easy to clean. A long transparent tube reaches the bottom of the box, a brush cleans the sides and back, and a crevice tool gets into hard-to-reach places. The attachments don't attach to the

How did I get along without it?

Well sometimes you do things a way you don't like but think it's the only way. Thank goodness that doesn't apply to cleaning a pellet stove. This can get dusty and uncomfortable, especially if you clean the oven while it's still hot: Fine particles rise with the heat. Soon the whole house will be covered with a thin layer of ash. Not good. Enter the ash vacuum. It's louder than a jet in your front pocket, but it does its job of cleaning the stove without releasing ANY dust. Do you know how…

Useful but needs an update

I bought this to go with my otherwise excellent Cougar vacuum (reviewed elsewhere) as the vacuum comes without attachments and the Vacuum cleaner without attachments can only be used to a limited extent. Attachments in particular are good ideas but very poorly designed. The first problem was that the kit did not come with assembly instructions. The metal suction tube on the vacuum hose appears to be permanently attached, but it is not. It has to be removed from the end of the rubber hose to…
