Review on ๐Ÿ”ฅ Cheetah Cougar Ash Vacuums: Efficient Cleaning for Ash and Debris Removal by Heather Anderson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Useful but needs an update

I bought this with my excellent Cougar vacuum (reviewed elsewhere) because the vacuum comes bare and the bare vac has limited use. Attachments in particular are good ideas but very poorly designed. The first problem was that the kit did not come with assembly instructions. The metal intake manifold on the vacuum hose appears to be permanently attached, but it is not. It has to be removed from the end of the rubber hose to allow the nozzles to fit in or over the tip of the rubber hose and it drove my wife and I crazy until I figured it out. Second, while the brush is good and the clear plastic suction tube is perfect for cleaning my stove's ignition port, under the burner and in the circulation chambers, both nozzles are difficult to install properly. The hose of the vacuum cleaner has very small internal and external tapers, but the brush hardly slides over it and the clear plug of the hose hardly fits in - the brush and the metal suction tube corrode the rubber end of the hose after a few months of use. and the rubber stopper of the hose is hardly inserted and often springs open at the most inconvenient moment. The vacuum cleaner hose needs a metal clamp, or the rubber end of the hose and all fittings need better bevels. You'll still need a small brush for hard-to-reach spots and a spatula to scrape the charcoal off your pellet stove's burning boiler.
