We have black granite countertops and full length black granite backsplashes which makes the areas under our cabinets very dark. They were too dark to see printed in cookbooks. Unlike other sets, this one has two types of extension cords that you can use to either connect very bright light strips into one long strip, or connect them together with short cords. Short cables make it easy to go around corners or bridge dividers at the bottom of closets. They have both brackets that bolt to cabinets and a lighter version, very strong double sided tape. I'm a 70 year old female and it took about an hour to install. They are touch controlled with a wire control about 3.5 feet from the plug. The controls require you to touch a switch to turn it on and adjust the brightness between 3 different levels. To turn it off, just touch the switch for about 5 seconds. I chose this type over the motion-activated type because I didn't want it turning on every time someone walked by. I am very satisfied with their quality and the ease of use and installation.
