The Flexzion WBY-1F industrial letter scale is an attractive and high-quality scale for large mail and packages. The 15" x 12" platform is made of stainless steel and is large enough for most small to medium sized backpacks. In fact, the scale's maximum weight capacity of up to 440 pounds is far in excess of what you'd likely ever put on a scale of this size. said the scale has a few annoying quirks to deal with. First, although weight is measured in both kilograms, pounds, and ounces, pound values are displayed in pounds and a percentage of pounds, not pounds + ounces. In other words, a one pound, eight ounce package will show as "1.50" pounds. It's up to you to figure out what that percentage means in ounces. Likewise, the ounce meter only shows ounces, so the same 1 pound and 8 ounce package will show as "24" ounces. Not critical. But the scale really needed to have a lb+oz mode. The separate display unit, which also contains the batteries, has large, easy-to-read digits. The mode and function buttons are large. But for some, the reason Flexzion labeled the buttons is because of a very dull gray font on a black button. The function keys are almost unreadable with anything other than direct light. White on black, easy to read markings, doesn't seem to be a problem. However, the keys are very difficult to see in moderate lighting. The scale appears to be well built, with height-adjustable legs, and there's a handy storage compartment on the bottom for an external display. The system runs on batteries or the included USB power adapter. In general, I am satisfied with the Flexzion WBY-1F industrial postal scale. But I would like them to think, or think in the future, about the details mentioned here.
