So far so good Coil packs are the best

I'll update this review while I own my 2004 Civic (which god willing will be switching to a newer car soon ;) ) . My Civic 1.7 has a terrible head gasket problem, causing its two inner cylinders to leak excess pressure into the coolant jacket when hot under load. It's almost non-existent, but telltale signs include a slight oily sensation when opening the radiator cap and a build-up of extra coolant in the expansion tank (also watch out for air gurgling in the hot heater core). I've had this car for five years and it hasn't gotten *worse*. but as you can imagine, the extra drops of coolant in the chamber when idling in a traffic jam or driving up a steep hill are not exactly good for the spark plugs and therefore the coils. My poor car had the courtesy of giving me a good, solid warning rather than stranding me, so I hit the Revain as soon as I felt the backfire. This vehicle is equipped with Denso OEM spark plugs with a five year replacement interval. and I've definitely been there (those -M11 connectors are $30 each at the dealer, $15 each here). Sure enough, the plugs had some center electrode wear, but very little as they were solid OEMs. but the plug reels are a lot trickier than the pony can reels your grandfather had on his barracuda. I saw that they were terribly cheap compared to OEMs (which cost $60 EACH). but the reviews were good, so I pulled the trigger. As expected, pulling out 15 year old coils and 5 year old connectors showed that I had become as indifferent to ignition wear as I am to a frog in a pot of water. - Idle shift, power steering, brakes and fuel economy issues, which were considered separate issues, were related to how well each cylinder pulled its weight. It should have been because once those coils and the new -L11 Denso plugs were installed (identical to the OEM Honda -M11 except for a slightly stronger ground electrode - and less than $8 for 4 plugs ;)) all of these disappeared problems a way. ...A week has passed since I admitted that I dreaded every traffic light because I thought I had been duped by the Revane junk sellers. But these coils fit and work EXACTLY like the OEMs with no issues (so far - no hitches here). Better yet, the car hasn't run this well in a very long time -- my max mpg (120 miles/half tank), which literally took years of turning off grandma and air conditioning, is now effortless -- like so many other performance-related ones Aspects such as overtaking and cruising speed of 60-65. If you have *small* misfires in not one but two intermittent cylinders. Obviously this Honda generation is much more sensitive to that than my old Toyotas. Ok I will update if there are any problems. I sincerely believe the owners who scolded this put these new coils on worn connectors and killed them like they would kill an OEM coil - except you can get 4 of these coils for the price of an OEM coil. and get to the subway with a transfer. If you want to change coils, buy eight plugs at a time - L11 Denso (PKJ20CR-L11, $7.49 here Jan 25, 2019) and change them every 2 years ;)
