A large size overall. I thought he would have trouble holding me because he seems so small BUT he was great at holding me and every one of my friends. (Up to 6.1 feet tall and 195 pounds). We went to a place that was mostly wide and open, so the distance to get from one side to the other was quite large. It literally just snaps around your waist, adjusts and you're good to go. When I don't need it, it didn't bother me. When I really needed it (needed a break while swimming on the lake) I just grabbed the rope and used it until I was ready to move on again. We ALL found it very helpful. Def. Recommend. In addition, it comes in one package if two. It is also easy to inflate and does not take up space when deflated.
