Bought and used about a year ago. There are many things in the bag. I don't need nearly that much so I have enough to add to the fireplace as needed. It really does feel like warm embers in a fireplace and helps enhance the illusion that my gas fireplace is actually a real wood stove. I probably spent the entire 10 minutes cleaning each chimney (we did 2 times) and another 5-10 minutes putting the wool where I wanted it. I didn't feel like experimenting, so I laid out the yarn in a pattern I was sure would work. I got it right the first time and haven't had to worry about it since. I used about 1/3 of the pack in total. So the hardest thing for me is keeping the leftover yarn in a place I won't forget in a few years.
