Review on ๐ŸŽฎ HORI Battle Pad for Nintendo Wii U (Mario Version) with Turbo - Enhanced SEO by Ben Demers

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great for Smash Bros on Wii U, great for any turbo virtual console game!

Little known fact, I didn't find the NES Max or Advantage useful as a kid, the basic NES controllers that came with it were good enough. Well, fast forward, and now I really appreciate this controller's turbo feature, which takes away any repetitive strain from repetitive button presses and makes virtual console games like Zelda II easier than it would be without the turbo (killing the skull balls). This is set by pressing the turbo button and which button should be turbo. The switch sets the frequency. As a controller, it mimics, if not duplicates, the feel of a Gamecube controller. I believe it is a MODIFIED Classic Pro Controller for the Wiimotes Wii/Wii U as it connects to the Wiimote using the Home and Plus and Minus buttons. Not bad, this thing works great in customizing Smash Brothers without any settings. So far it's responsive to me, but maybe that's because I've been uncompetitive in controller nuances for too long. For those who can't get their hands on a Gamecube Wii U USB adapter or four Gamecube controllers (they only work for Smash Brothers, to my knowledge, nothing else), this is a great replacement, if not the biggest lever. wireless connectivity by being connected to a Wiimote/Wiimote with Motion Plus. I would use a Gamecube USB hub and my white Gamecube controller, but cables and all. So that's the positive side of this controller. Since it's a classic Gamecube controller, it doesn't work as a Gamecube controller either. So those with a backward compatible Wii don't expect this to work with Gamecube games. Cliff Notes: Gamecube controller location and FeelTurbo button and adjustable turbo frequency Wireless (with Wiimote connection to work) Works for all Nintendo licensed Classic Controller and Classic Controller Pro games? (although their website doesn't list this one, but another classic Gamecube controller molded from a PDP (no turbo)) Although, like the third-party Gamecube controller I've had before, its durability is depressing. We'll see this in the future (as it will involve a lot of attrition from breaking - no, not literally, but maybe if I'm disappointed with the difficulty)

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and chunky
