I recently lit a fireplace with an old plastic barbecue lighter. The flames seem to get smaller over time, regardless of the fuel level. They are unlikely to light birthday candles. so i bought these. Good looking. Good long flexible neck. A powerful torch-like flame with a blue conical center. It filled well without spitting butane like others do. Based on the size of the pen and the time it took to fill, I would guess the butane gas tank is large. Piezo ignition at the top. Flame adjustment below - an unusual lever that rotates. The protrusion surrounds the fill valve. Switching on/off can be locked. No overly complicated "safety" dual switches. If you want, press the button. There's no fuel level window, but it's not the end of the world. If there is no flame, I will refill it. I like it.
