I had an 8 inch tilting speaker for a while but it wasn't directional enough. It was a great speaker, but I had to install it very far from the listening area due to the ceiling fan in the middle of the room. Even with the center channel turned on, dialogue was barely audible. From the kitchen, which is behind the living room, there was almost no dialogue from the TV at a reasonable volume. This is the only way to select the center duct on the ceiling! Great sound and dialogue come through even at low volumes. You can now hear it very well from the sides of the room, as well as from the kitchen. The grill is not magnetic, but the border on the edge is very thin and almost magnetic. I wish it was a magnetic grill but it still looks pretty. Make no mistake with this speaker.
