Review on 🖱️ Enhance Efficiency with Kensington Pro Fit Ergo Vertical Wireless Trackball (K75326WW) by Michael Hughes

UPDATE: After months of continuous use: AVOID! This trackball is terrible, I 100% regret spending more than double what the Logitech M570 costs. I keep having connection problems even though the receiver is no further than 60 cm away. and it's not just a reception problem, it's really another bug - the mouse pointer still moves with the trackball, but it doesn't register any clicks. At first I thought my computer was freezing, but no - it's a Kensington trackball. As soon as I turn the trackball off and on again, it works fine for a while. This annoying experience usually happens about once a day, or maybe once every few days, but sometimes it happens almost constantly - every few clicks that require a reboot. I have verified that this is not a problem with my computer as any other mouse/trackball works fine. This is the last straw and the reason, in addition to the issues mentioned in my original review below, that I downgraded this review to 1 star. Very very disappointed. If I could still bring it back, it would be over long ago. I am in the process of filing a warranty claim so will update the review once this process is complete so I can let everyone know if Kensington support is worth anything. I bought this Kensington trackball after being a Logitech M570 user for a long time. . If you know anything about the M570, you know that many people find it extremely convenient, but its internal parts are of extremely poor quality. My M570, as always, failed after a year or two and I decided I wouldn't continue to reward Logitech for producing junk when, in terms of ergonomics and usability (before they start failing), they are basically unmatched on the market. I've made the decision to avoid not just the M570 but all of Logitech's offerings as I find that even their latest thumb trackball offering suffers from poor quality switches. Even if they don't, they won't get any more of my money. So basically what's left are some random Chinese trackballs or this Kensington device. For us ball bead users, there isn't much to it. My first impression after a few days of use was "Maybe ok, but the price is too high" - and now, after a month of use, my opinion has changed. has not changed. I would think the Kensington is a bit more ergonomic than the M570, but it takes forever to break in (the ball/cursor gets stuck and twitches, and STILL after a month the movement isn't ALMOST as smooth as my M570). but it will get better with time). Build quality - ah. It seems a little more powerful than the M570, but not by much. It's not heavy enough and moves too easily. The location of the buttons - no. It has three additional buttons on the left under the trackball. These buttons are incredibly awkward to press with precision and ease, and the switches used feel very cheap and are VERY easy to accidentally activate. Luckily I'm using Linux, which by default just ignores these extra buttons without further configuration. The scroll wheel is very "clicky" and looks a little cheap, but it could be worse. Ergonomics - ah. I jumped for a much better one for $70. I have medium sized hands, maybe even a bit small for the average man. And yet this trackball is still too small. I have to take my hand back and wrap it around it a bit instead of putting my palm on the trackball. If I don't do this, my thumb will be too far forward on the ball and my fingers will be heavily overlapping the right and left buttons. On the first day, the ergonomics bothered me a lot. On the second day I started pinching and it doesn't bother me anymore. Accuracy - I like the DPI button that lets you choose three levels of sensitivity. I think the average level is optimal. However, the ball is very "sticky" and bouncy, not smooth at all. I hope this is just a case of a brand new device taking some time to break in. Just take a look. UPDATE: It got better after a month, but not by much. I just pulled my old M570 out for comparison, and it's ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooos hotter than this Kensington. In general, it's not scary. To be honest I'm torn between keeping it or returning it and getting another M570 even though it's against all my principles! I just feel like I paid too much for what I got. In fact, I'll probably stick with it and just hope to grow it after a longer acclimatization period. UPDATE: It's been a month and I'm still not sure if I want to keep using it. Fur. not impressed, Kensington!
