Review on 🔧 Enhance Performance & Durability: Mag-Hytec Rear Differential Cover for 86-12 Ford F-250/F350 Truck & SUV with 12-10.25 Axle by Christopher Wiggins

Good coverage. for gearbox and transmission

This is a heavy duty cover, very well made and will look great on the back of your truck. It took me about two hours to install this cover. I'm not a mechanic but the installation is very easy. If you're comfortable with basic garage tools, you can do this (check out YouTube or the Motorz podcasts). I think the only problem you might have is if your truck has a rear stabilizer bar. Depending on where the stem crosses the back cover, it may not fit through the longer Mag-Hytec cover. The main reason I bought this cover is because my stock diff cover didn't have a drain plug. Since I had to remove the cap to change the fluid I decided to use this cap and make future fluid changes much easier. Extra liquid capacity is good, but there's a catch. From what I've read online, the rule of thumb for diff fluid is to never fill through the fill plug. Using this cap, I poured another liter (4.5 liters) into the differential before fluid began to overflow through the filler plug (on the axle). It turns out that the only way to fill the differential with the full specified amount of fluid (6 liters) is to close the movement's fill plug and use the full plug on the cap. The end result is that your liquid "waterline" will be higher than a standard drain plug. An email from Mag-Hytec confirmed this as part of the design, assuring it would not affect the axle seals. Just take a look. But that's the only reason I'm not giving it a full 5 stars. I've topped off all six liters and will let you know if I have any problems.
